WENDY, 21 ÅR

Dear Host family, My name is wendy.I am an 20years old girl,currently living in Kenya,Nairobi.I come from a family of 6.My father works in printing field and my mother is self employed running a small business of mobile salon.I have 2 sisters and one brother.My elder sister is 22years old.My brother is primary level together with my youngest sister. In about a year or two,I plan to pursue a higher level of my university level,but I'm yet to make up my mind concerning my future area of specialization.So at the moment,I would like to take some time out of my academics to have a different life experience and to have time to calmly reflect on my future professional orientation. To this end,I think spending some time abroad would be particularly interesting.My first language is English and i am also fluent in kiswahili.I started learning English and Kiswahili in my primary school upto date.When it comes to child care experience,I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts.Last year i spent 3months in a children's home known as "Mama Fatuma Goodwill Children's home".In additional to that,I participate in helping children in need in a group known as Together For Society Kenya ,it mainly works with street children.We used to do outdoors activities such as singing,dancing,playing games,drawing,painting and narrating stories.We also went out on picnics and camping trips.I have also helped my parents in looking after my brother and sister since birth.Although looking after them is now restricted to my university vacations as a teenager.I was nevertheless much more involved in caring for them on a daily basis.In addition,My siblings also spent alot of time playing with our neighbor's children,so from time to time I find myself in their over animated company.I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with children when it comes to leisure,I take pleasure in the simple things in life.I also enjoy being outdoors doing street walks,visiting new places that i have never been to. As far as preference are concerned,I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for Atleast 12months.I would also prefer looking after children aged 0-15 years. Lastly,i am quite flexible and i would also prefer having working hours that would allow me to attend my day time French and German online language classes.I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you:to answer whatever questions you may have about me or my child care experiences,to learn about your family;your interest and to know more about what you expect from the au pair arrangement.
