MELJEAN, 25 ÅR

Dear host family, I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Meljean Quirimit. I am 25 years old and from the small town in Philippines. With my father, Felipe (67), and my nieces Lois Lane (18) and Chantylle (15), I am living in a house that is located in an area full of nature. We have got 3 dogs, who love to cuddle all day. My father has no work since he is old now, while my mother died on March 18, 2019. My niece Chantylle is currently attending the 10th grade of secondary school and her sister Lois Lane is on her freshmen year taking up Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Overall, we are a pretty large family, I have several cousins. I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me. In my free time, I like to cook different dishes that I watched on youtube and prepare it for my family. I love exploring foods that are new to me. I like to listen to music, go shopping or play board games. Playing board games is one of my favorite hobbies, it is my way of spending time with my nieces. At the moment, I am reviewing for my assessment for Caregiving National Certificate II. I recently finished my studies relating to Caregiving. I had my training at a hospital for a couple of months and I’m a volunteer to take care elderly and children with disabilities at a Charity. In addition, I took up a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and graduated on august 17, 2023. Few years ago, I had a work experience, I worked as a Collection Specialist in Fascall Corporation, I also used to be as a Service Crew at a Restaurant, and a Packaging Crew at Dressing Plant Factory. For the past ten years, I took care of my nieces. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. When my grandfather was still alive, I also took care of him. Through this time, I have found out how good it is to take care of your loved ones and I can’t imagine a life without them. The reason why I want to go to the Europe as an au pair is that I want to get to know the European way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my English skills as well. I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids.
