My name is Keycee Joyce Ignacio, I am 21 years old I live here in the Philippines. My mother is an Overseas Filipino Worker in Hongkong for almost 10years. She is a nanny of two beautiful young chinese girls. My mom and dad were separated while I was still young. I have one sibling who is 20 years old. He depends on me and treats me as his mom. That’s why I am used to being independent and having a nurturing mother figure. I also live on my mother’s side. Living on my mother's side is expected to be in an extended family. I am with my grandmother, brother, older cousins, aunt, uncle, and younger cousins. I am an easy going, a hardworking, responsible, disciplined, honest, organized, trustworthy, kind, cheerful, and patient person, making me a quick adapter and a positive influence on children. I speak English as my second language. I can ride a bike, I can cook, and I even love outdoor walks. I also have a strong commitment to cleanliness and appearance. Regarding my educational background, I take a Psychology course. I also have a background in childcare and development as I take developmental psychology in my course which provides information and knowledge on proper child development. As someone who has a background in psychology, I am willing to apply this with them and I am always open to new knowledge and continuously researching the different proper approaches for kids with different attitudes, behaviors, and personalities. Because kids have different personalities that’s why research is very important for me to raise children on different levels because raising a kid is not just about playing, being with them, helping them with their school work, preparing their meals, and so on. But also knowing, understanding, loving, appreciating, and being empathetic to them. I believe taking care of children is an unending learning experience for someone who is looking out for them. In regards to my personal experience. Having a large family with younger cousins has given me valuable hands-on experience that I believe would translate well to being an Au Pair. I've always loved spending time with children. I have experience helping my aunt raise my cousins from the time they were babies until now. My cousins are aged 2 and 14 years old right now. I help my aunt take care of my cousins. I had to feed them, help them get dressed for school in the morning, taking them to shower, and teach the 14-year-old boy to do his homework in the evening. And I also teach him to do spelling, word reading, mathematics. We also play board games, paper games, or any indoor and outdoor games together. My aunt is not giving me a pocket money but it’s okay as long as I am seeing my cousins that I also raised them well. My aunt sometimes gave me a gift and money reward every Christmas for loving her kids. My experience caring for my younger cousins, coupled with my understanding of child development from my Psychology studies, allows me to allows me to connect with children on their level, and create a safe and engaging space for children to learn and grow. I can plan age-appropriate activities, assist with homework, and foster their creativity through play and exploration. I am an easy going, a hardworking, responsible, disciplined, honest, organized, trustworthy, kind, cheerful, and patient person, making me a quick adapter and a positive influence on children. What I really love about taking care of kids is not just about spending time with them but also they help me to heal my inner child. I want them to experience that they are worthy and loveable while they are still young. They are not just learning from me but I also learning from them and they gave me a wonderful experience that I can’t get from anyone.
