Dear Au Pair, We are very much looking forward to meeting you! We are Pieter en Frederieke and we have 3 kids: Mees (boy 6), Pepijn (boy 5), and Kiki (girl 2,5 years). We live in Heemstede in the Netherlands (near Amsterdam and the beach). We love being outside playing in playgrounds and doing sports, spending time with family and friends, but also like to play games, make drawings and painting, and if we have time bake in the kitchen. We live in a very childfriendly area in Heemstede with shops and school and daycare nearby. You can even see the school from your room :-). The trainstation is nearby, from which you can easily travel to Amsterdam in 20 minutes. In summer we also love to go to the beach which is really nearby, we then go by bike. We then play in the sand and enjoy having some drinks. Our house has 3 floors and a nice garden. Your room will be on the top floor, it is very light with a nice view. You will have your own bathroom with toilet and shower. It is a lovely place to have some private quiet time. Our kids are very happy and enthusiastic kids (most of the time ;-)) and like to play and meet with friends. Mees is going to school, loves to be outside to play with balls (he really likes golf) and loves playgrounds. Inside he really like to play with Lego and espcially playing games such as chess and card games. He is kind of a smart boy and loves learning all kind of new things. Pepijn also goes to school, is very outgoing, he loves being around people and is really caring for everybody around him. Outside he loves playing with sand and water, inside he loves drawing, painting and playing with Playdo. He like to do imitation games and is the creative one. Kiki is our youngest and is really easygoing and extremely happy kid. She does know how to get her way more and more, and starts using words. She loves books and taking care of her dolls. As a family we like to go outside, but also really love to be at home, as we really love our family house. With a family of five (and two parents working fulltime it's never a dull moment). During working hours, but also during other moments, we welcome an extra person in our household very much also helping us out with household chores such as laundry and tyding the house, allowing for a little bit of time for ourselves as well. Over the past year we had the pleasure of having Angy(a Filipino Au Pair) with our family, however per beginning of May 2024 she will be moving on to another adventure. Therefore we are looking for someone who knows how to tackle things, a hands-on and confident and independent person who pro-actively seeks for nice activities with the children, and also does not mind doing some light household chores like cooking, tyding and laundry. But most of all someone who knows how to create a safe environment and just loves to spend time with young children. In return we hope and expect to be a fun and caring family to join for a year and to facilitate an unforgettable inspiring and learning experience in the Netherlands.
