Firstly, I would like to thank you for your interest in my application and now I would like to tell you something about me, my family, my interests and of course about my experiences in taking care of children. This letter should give you an insight into my life and personality, so you can decide better if I am the right Au-pair for your family. I describe myself as an open, friendly, organized, loyal and faithful person. Also the sense of responsibility is very important for me. I'm a helpful person, who laughs very often. My Friends describe me as a good listener and a caring, respectful and dependable person. These are my family members: I have a father Hutson Siburian (63) who lives in a house located in the center of the city. My father works as a farmer whose garden is far from home, it takes about 4 hours to get there. I have 2 sisters (I'm the second kid in my family). The older sister Anna Siburian (29) lives and works in Jakarta with her husband. And younger sister Stevanny Siburian(23), She is currently graduated from college. Overall, we are a small family, but I have many cousins ​​and nieces from my father's and mother's families. I graduated from college in 2021 majoring in soil science, Faculty of Agriculture, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. Mwork experience was short because it was included in the course section. I once did an internship for one month at a coal mining company located in the province of South Sumatra. In my free time I listening to music, going outside for a walk or jogging, meeting my friends, like to cook, going shopping. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing – even though I cannot sing. I also like hiking. When I was in college, I already hiking 3 mountains and hiked some hills with my friends. I have quite a lot of experience with children. Since I was little I was taught to take care of my younger sibling. As I got older, my cousins ​​often left their children at home while they worked. I took care of, fed and changed my nephew's clothes. While in college (2020) I became a Sunday school teacher at the HKBP Yogyakarta church. I was responsible for taking care of children aged 6-8 years (telling stories about God's word and keeping the class conducive). In 2024 I underwent an au pair progra¹m in the Netherlands, which will end in early February 2025. I take care of 3 children (12, 10, and 8), I am responsible for preparing lunch, preparing breakfast, preparing afternoon snacks, preparing the ingredients needed for dinner, bathing the children. Sometimes I also chat with the children. The reason I want to continue the au pair program is because I want to learn new culture and language. And I believe being an au pair will help me become an independent and responsible person. Taking good care of my host family gives me more responsibility. Providing meaningful assistance even in the small things that I do. Learning more about life in another perspective that is outside my comfort zone. And these memories will be remembered forever.
