MARY-LYN, 29 ÅR

I’m Mary but you can call me Dolly, I prefer to call me by my nickname. I’m from Pagadian City but currently residing here in Davao City for 12 years now - for studies and working here as well. Career: I’ve been working since I was 20 up until now. I’ve finished my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Major in Financial Management last 2017, but no, I do not handle my finances pretty well. Anyway, I actually shifted Financial Management from Accountancy for 3 years because I wanted to graduate fast. Before I graduated, I landed a job in a construction company here in Davao as an Accounting Staff but resigned after 3 months to finish my degree and went back to the same company after a year as a Purchasing Officer. After 1 year and 4 months, I’ve changed my career in one of the BPO companies here as an Accounts Payable Specialist in a Logistics company in the USA. After 2 years and 4 months, I got promoted as a Junior Team Lead and after 3 months of probation, got promoted again as a Team Leader for 3 years and 8 months for Bill & Pay Team. And just last year, my company in the USA decided to put up their business here in the Philippines and retained us. I’m currently working as a Supervisor in Freight Bill Audit team. I had the privilege to went to the US last week of February until first week of March this year to have a tour in our main headquarters in California, USA as one of the perks of being in a leadership program. It’s a big privilege to be chosen and to travel for work. Family: I have a good paying job actually but I wanted to explore other cultures and it’s my lifelong dream to travel to Europe. It’s a big risk for me financially because I’ve been helping my sister to finished her degree and she graduated last year. And I still have 1 sister helping her to finish her studies and yes, I’m the one who’s financially responsible for it. I know it’s not my responsibility but that’s the only thing that I could help and give back to my parents since I’m not living with them for 12 years now and I’ve been independent since. I just go home during holidays season since it’s 14-19hrs land travel from my hometown. I want to try to be an au pair in Europe to choose myself now since I’m turning 30 next year and it’s the last chance for me to be an au pair. I hope it’s not too late for me though. About me: I really love travelling since I was 17. Been too many places here in the Philippines. I’ve also been in Singapore and California. I also love hiking and exploring different cities, falls and mountains. And as a Filipina, I’m forever an island girl, so my skin is tan. And right now, my hobby is jogging/walking. Just recently finished my 10k fun run (08/04/24). I’m single for 5 years now and just had 1 boyfriend and I don’t have kids. My friends says that I’m funny, but I’m just sarcastic sometimes. People find me intimidating at first if they don’t know me that well but I can be sweet after we got really close. I’m very organised with my travel, I’m the type of person who will book all of the necessary travel things but I can be spontaneous. I’m introvert but can be a social butterfly if I wanted to but I can only take 2hrs of socialising though. I hate talking too much because I sometimes over share so, I prefer to talk just casually.
