This is not a regular au pair job. We are a Danish family living mostly in California. We also have a house i Copenhagen (Kastrup) and a beach house in the Caribbean. The dad (Ken) needs to lose weight, but he has trouble doing so, when he is at home, surrounded by temptations. For 4 weeks during the spring/summer 2022, we need someone to come to California and be his "watch dog" and help make sure he stays on his diet. Your task will be: - Prepare lunch and dinner for him every day. All meals consist of mostly vegetables and maybe some lean meat. We will give you recipes to follow. - "Drag" him out on daily activities, at least 1 hour every morning. Hiking, biking, swimming, horseback riding, gym or kayak. The more the better. (He can't run because of a back injury). - Stay with him all the time, to make sure he does not get tempted. - Help out in general We live on a ranch on the Central Coast of California. We have horses, cows, chickens, sheep, dogs, and cats. We are 10 miles from the city, so it should not bother you to live in the country on a ranch. You must be active and in good health, and able to join Ken on daily activities. You should be able and willing to cook healthy food, or willing to learn it. We are not very big on Social media, and we would like you to be present in the moment, whenever you are around us. So if your phone is clinging to your side non-stop, this is probably not a good match. You will get your own room with you own bathroom. If the 4 weeks goes well, and you like living with us, we may offer you a longer period, but the initial commitment is for 4 weeks. The 4 weeks can begin anywhere from Mid-April to Mid-June. You will get a good salary and the plane ticket paid. We speak Danish at home, and we are all fluent in English. We live and work in a totally smoke-free environment, so smokers should not apply. It is an advantage if you have a driver's license, but not a requirement.
