WILLIAM, 18 YEARS

Dear future host family, My name is William Kafunda, and I am an 18-year-old from Zambia. I am very excited about the opportunity to join your family as an au pair and experience life in Germany. I come from a family of six, where I am the oldest and the only boy. My three sisters, aged 16, 12, and 4, have taught me patience, responsibility, and the joy of working with children. I often play games with my younger sisters, help them with their homework, and assist my parents with daily tasks like grocery shopping and picking my sisters up from school. These experiences have made me confident in my ability to support and care for children in a family setting. I have a quiet yet warm personality, and I enjoy spending time with my family and the people around me. Kindness and understanding are very important to me, and I believe these qualities help me build strong relationships. Participating in an au pair program is important to me because I want to experience a new culture and improve my German language skills. I would as like to use this opportunity to share my Zambian culture and experiences with you. My dream is to immerse myself in the German language and culture, obtain international connections and return to Zambia and become a teacher of German, sharing the beauty of the language and culture with others. I would like to have flexible hours during the day to attend a German language course and explore the city, as these activities are essential for my personal and professional growth.
