LETTER TO THE FAMILY
Dear Host Family, My name is Chutikarn, but you can call me Kookkik. I am 24 years old and currently live in Thailand. I have a deep passion for working with children, and I would love the opportunity to become a part of your family as an Au Pair. I hold a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Thammasat University, which has helped me develop an open-minded and multicultural perspective—an essential skill when caring for children from diverse backgrounds. My personality is shaped by qualities such as responsibility, patience, and kindness, which I believe are vital in creating a nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive. I have also gained valuable experience as a teaching assistant in a kindergarten, where I had the joy of working closely with young children, helping them learn and ensuring they feel happy and supported. In addition to childcare, I enjoy activities like walking, drawing, and exploring nature, which I would be thrilled to share with your children. I also prioritize a healthy lifestyle and do not smoke or drink alcohol, ensuring that I am always in the best possible state to care for children. I look forward to the possibility of becoming a part of your family and learning from each other as we create lasting memories together. ✨ If you think we would be a good match, let me share more about myself to help you feel confident. It's right below! ✨ My Personality: I am caring, creative, patient, kind, responsible, and adaptable. These qualities stem from my upbringing and are reflected in how I interact with others, especially children. I believe that every child deserves a supportive, nurturing environment where they feel valued and loved. Being kind and patient allows me to create strong connections and help children thrive in a safe space. My creativity helps me design engaging activities that make learning fun and memorable. My Family: I come from a close-knit family of four, where I am the youngest, with an older brother. Growing up as the youngest, I was always showered with love and support from my family, which fostered a strong sense of security and affection in me. If I had younger siblings, I would love to give them the same warmth and guidance I received, helping them grow with confidence and love. Additionally, I have two 13-year-old dogs who are like my little siblings, and I consider them an important part of my family. They bring so much joy and companionship, and I believe pets can play a valuable role in the emotional development of children. My Education: I graduated with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Thammasat University, earning First Class Honors. My education has instilled in me an open-minded and multicultural perspective, which I believe is crucial when interacting with children from diverse backgrounds. I also have certifications in basic first aid and child psychology, which equip me with the knowledge to handle emergencies and understand child development. This educational foundation complements my passion for caring for children, ensuring that I can provide the best possible care and guidance. What I Do in My Free Time: In my free time, I love to unwind by baking, particularly simple and fun recipes I find on TikTok. Baking allows me to be creative while also enjoying the satisfaction of sharing something delicious with loved ones. I also enjoy drawing cartoons, as art was always my strongest subject in high school. It’s a relaxing way for me to express myself and a skill I like to share with children. When I’m not baking or drawing, I enjoy taking my dogs for walks around the house, bonding with them and getting fresh air. My Experience with Kids: In 2019, I had the privilege of taking care of my 5-year-old nephew, Phoom, and my infant niece, Ploy. Although it was a short-term role, it was incredibly rewarding. I helped with their daily needs, including playing games, teaching them new things, and engaging them in creative activities. Phoom loved storytelling, painting, and board games, while Ploy enjoyed music and baby talk. These special moments not only brought me immense joy, but they also confirmed my passion for caring for children. Currently, I am a teaching assistant at Watthunglungmittraphap 198 School, where I’ve accumulated over 600 hours of experience working with 25 children aged 3-4. The class includes Thai and Burmese children, some of whom speak little to no Thai, which has given me valuable experience in working with children from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. My responsibilities include helping with lesson plans, classroom management, promoting creativity through art and storytelling, and assisting with everyday activities. I take great pride in helping children develop in such a varied environment and am constantly inspired by their resilience and creativity. My Language: I am fluent in Thai and have an intermediate level of proficiency in English. This allows me to communicate effectively with children and families from both Thai and international backgrounds, facilitating a rich exchange of culture and ideas. My Motivation: My background in cultural studies and my love for working with children have driven my desire to become an au pair. I am passionate about experiencing new cultures while providing care and support to children. Being an au pair would give me the opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture, share my own traditions, and learn from different experiences. It’s a chance for personal growth while making a meaningful impact on the lives of children. My Expectations: I am excited about the opportunity to become part of a host family, where I can serve as a big sister to the children. I look forward to creating wonderful memories together, from everyday activities to exciting adventures. I am also eager to learn new languages and share my own, as well as exchange cultural practices and traditions. The experience of cultural exchange and mutual understanding is something I truly value. Other Important Information: I am certified in CPR and first aid, ensuring that I am prepared to handle any emergency situations. I also have a driver’s license with extensive experience, which would allow me to help with transportation needs if necessary. Additionally, I do not smoke or drink alcohol, ensuring a healthy lifestyle that supports the well-being of children. I am not someone who frequents nightlife, as I believe in maintaining a balanced and wholesome lifestyle. I am also proficient in swimming, which allows me to provide additional safety and fun activities for your children. I hope my qualifications and experiences match your family’s needs. It would be a privilege to join your family as an Au Pair. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Please feel free to reach out to learn more about me—I am eager to know more about you and your family as well! Best regard, Kookkik
