KELE, 21 YEARS

Hey Host family! My name is Kele M from South Africa. I have been in South Africa for more than 18 years and I plan to take up this opportunity and see what the world has to offer me. I volunteered at a daycare and took care of children from 1 year and 4 years old and I believe they loved me as I took it upon myself to entertain them. As I walked out, I received high fives and screams from all of them lol which explains that they were comfortable with me being in the same room with them. Besides my experience from taking care of younger kids at the daycare, I do take care of kids from the age of 5 years old and 15 years old. As a 19-year-old software development student, I have always been interested in exploring the world beyond the four walls of the classroom. While I am passionate about software development, I believe that taking a break to become an au pair will provide me with valuable life experience, help me develop new skills, and broaden my horizons. My objective is to become an au pair and immerse myself in a new culture while gaining practical experience in childcare. Additionally, I plan to use this opportunity to explore different career paths and discover what else I might be passionate about. I am excited to be able to apply my problem-solving skills and adaptability in a new environment while building relationships with the families I work with. During my time as an au pair, I hope to learn about different cultures, improve my language skills, and develop a sense of independence and self-reliance. I am confident that this experience will not only be personally fulfilling, but it will also enhance my overall perspective and make me a more well-rounded individual. I am from a family that speaks French as one of their languages so I do speak a bit of French and German so I am able to hold a basic conversation with others which is helpful at the moment given that I am still learning. As for the German language, I started learning it because the first time I came across the language, I fell in love with it and the thought of studying in Germany gave me the thrills. In summary, my objective is to take a break from my software development studies to become an au pair and gain valuable life experience while exploring different cultures and discovering new passions.
