DEAR HOST FAMILY
Dear Host Family
Thank you for visiting my profile.
I am Vanessa Jone, 25 years old, I currently stay in South Africa, where I was born and bred I have dual nationality as both my parents are Mozambican. I am currently a marketing director for my own digital marketing agency called Koffee Kreative, I also study Forensic Science and technology at the University of South Africa ( online). I speak 4 languages, that being English ( fluently) Portuguese (fluently) Tsonga ( not fluent) Zulu (not fluent). I lived in Mozambique for about 6 years that is how I learned how to speak Portuguese.
I have 8 siblings ( 1 brother, 5 sisters & 2 step sisters), which makes me an aunt of 10 amazing nieces and nephews, My mom is 50, my stepdad is 60 and my biological dad who has just retired is 70.
I love baking, reading, music, dancing, tennis, hiking, handball, swimming, and board games, when I am not working you will find me reading, having lunch with friends, studying, or babysitting my nephews/nieces. I work remotely and this is how I get to spend so much time with them.
One of the biggest motivations, why I want to become an au pair, is because I want to establish good relationships with families, travel, gain childcare experience, and improve how I cope with responsibilities.
I have many nephews and nieces, but I will share a bit about my nephew Lee, since 2013 I have been taking care of him part-time since his parents work full time in retail that can be hectic at times when I finished high school I stayed with my sister to help her even more, then I moved to my own apartment, lee would come to stay with me. When the pandemic started I had to stay with Lee full-time and homeschool him every day for 3 months which was so much fun, I taught him Portuguese as well. my duties included fetching him from school, taking him to soccer and swimming lessons, help with his homework and reading, prepare meals for him, make sure he is neat, and doing any extramural activities he had to do.
I am also part of an NPO called Kurandza, we help raise funds to take girls in Mozambique to school.
I can help you by playing with the children, make meals for them, keeping the children's rooms tidy and clean, ironing the children's clothes and do their laundry, helping the children with their homework, Helping the host kids with personal hygiene (tooth brushing, changing diapers, etc.), Light shopping, teach the children English and/or Portuguese.
Please feel free to send me a message, go through my social media pages as well.
Regards
Vanessa
