LUCY, 24 YEARS

Dear family, My name is Lucy, am 23 years old. Am Kenyan and currently living in Kenya. My hobbies are cooking, reading, traveling and hiking. I love nature and everything in it. I completed my studies in September 2022. I pursued diploma in hospitality management. During college holidays I would take care of my sister's kids and my younger brother. I would also take care of my neighbor's kids from time to time whenever they were very busy. After completing my Diploma course I attendd training for three months. Starting June 2023 I worked as a nanny for a family in Kenya. I would take care of their two kids 2 and 5 years among other duties. Am a collaborative, humble, outgoing, passionate and flexible lady. Am able to adapt well and quickly to any environment and climatic changes. Am passionate about my duties and perform them well and willingly. Am a quick learner and above all a God fearing lady. I love kids a lot and love spending time with them. I love watching them grow and teaching them new things. Through out this journey of aupair am hoping to learn different cultures and languages from different countries and also get to teach my host family different cultural activities performed in my country. As from January 2024 to May2024 i pursued certified nurse assistant. Throughout this period I learned and gained more skills. I learned how to take care of sick people, elderly people, newborns, babies and young children. I can give baths to newborns, give bedbaths to patients that are unable to move from the bed, turning the patients to avoid bedsores, giving bedpans to patients, changing the patient's diaper if using them, taking care of patients with urinary catheter, feeding patients using nasal gastric tube, nebulize patients that needs a nebulizer, taking vital signs,taking blood sugar and inject insulin if the patient is using it and maintening patient's high standard hygiene. I can also take care of children with special needs. I have a first aid certificate and basic life support certificate.
