DAISY, 24 YEARS

Dear host family, My name is Daisy Chesang ,I am 23 years old and I speak English and swahili fluently. I'm am a happy, funny, loving, caring, positive,patient & energetic person. I am also flexible, responsible and self sufficient. I was raised in a family of 6 on the coastal side of Kenya in a town called Mombasa. I'm the first born and in my culture the first born daughter is usually entitled with lots of household chores from a young age. Therefore, I have learnt to be self-disciplined, self driven, a hard worker so that those looking up to me would have a good example. I am a good cook and I can also follow new recipes. l can do laundry(iron and fold clothes neatly), I am generally a clean person and growing up with my younger siblings it became second nature to me to take care of them and tidy up the house. What I love about spending time with kids is witnessing them grow everyday, the curiosity to always learn new things. One is also able to learn new things from kids since every child is different. Personally helping out with babysitting kids in my community, has taught me to be patient, a good listener, understanding and engaging. Kids in my neighbourhood love me and they call me "siz". This is because I have babysitted majority of them throughout the years. My parents and most of my neighbours say that I am very responsible especially because I have occasionally helped out with emergency situations when they are not home. I took a short course on first aid which always comes in handy when kids run into home accidents. Professionally I studied Cartography which I can also say improved my communication skills as I could interact with people from various ethnicity. This sparked my interest to travel around the globe as well as in learning new languages. Hence why I started learning chinese through YouTube. I am open to learning more languages and I personally think being around children can help with that too. During my free time, I enjoy reading novels, watching movies, singing, dancing, taking long walks and socializing. Living by the coast, I usually carry out most of these activities by the water as it feels very calm and peaceful. Being your Aupair will give me the opportunity to learn your food & culture which will help me grow as a person. I am a very adaptable and easy going person, which will make it easy for me to adjust to your daily routines.
