ESTEFANI, 25 YEARS

Hi, My name is Estefani Sinurat, I graduated from Cenderawasih Jayapura University, and now I work as a Teacher I am very interested in becoming an Aupair because I really want to learn new cultures, languages, travel to various places and get to know new people. I am a funny person ,Independent and quickly get along with the environment. I have moved from my home in Medan from i6 years ago when I started studying in Papua which if you go by plane it will take about 7 hours. My parents were merchants and other businesses, and I was used to cooking while helping my parents on a daily basis while taking care of my younger brother. When I was in college I lived with my lecturer where I was used to having small children, in my lecturer's house, I was also the eldest of my 2 lecturer children, where every day I was used to playing football, accompanying them to study until accompanying them to sleep and then teaching them positive things and things they liked. Sometimes I make them food that they like when they are busy with their activities. I love traveling and visiting new places such as the major I was engaged in when I was studying Mining Engineering which went to several places to explore for my college practicum needs. For my mother tongue is Indonesian, but I am also an English teacher and calistung for my part time job, which for my English level ability I am a beginner I can have simple daily conversations and Aupair is one of the ways for my English level to improve even more if I communicate every day with the native directly through daily activities. I am also used to having children, how to understand the character of the child, and how to make them comfortable with us, even telling us stories like my own brother as I have experienced when I took care of my younger brother and took care of the children of my lecturers who have considered me as their eldest brother and they are free to express themselves, listen to their daily stories about their friends and school, give them space and advise them when they are doing negative things , Usually every day we have discussion sessions and prayer sessions together where I, as the eldest, lead them to sing and pray together. The key to making them comfortable with me is that I give them space to express themselves and make them feel safe with us. On the other hand, this aupair program also really helps me realize my dreams that are still pending such as I want to work abroad and if given the opportunity to continue my S2 Abroad so that I can provide benefits to my country, my dream is to establish Free English Tutoring for those who are still limited by Economics.
