LOUISA, 19 YEARS

Dear Host Family, My name is Louisa, I’m 19 years old and I grew up in Germany. After graduating from high school this year, I would like to take a gap year before starting university to explore new countries, learn about different cultures, and gain new experiences. Maybe your family is the perfect place for me to do so! I’ve always enjoyed spending time with children. I’ve helped with childcare at a local event several times, looking after children between the ages of about 1¾ and 12 years. Through that experience, I learned how to engage with children of different ages, keep them entertained, and handle responsibilities calmly and patiently. In addition, I’ve also done babysitting for families in my area on a hobby basis, which I truly enjoyed. In my free time, I love being creative — I enjoy painting and drawing, and I’ve been doing ballet for many years, which has taught me discipline, perseverance, and teamwork. I also like to stay active in general, whether that’s dancing, going for walks, or trying out new sports. Another passion of mine is traveling — I love discovering new places, meeting new people, and immersing myself in different cultures. Friends and family describe me as a reliable, open-minded, and caring person. I’m also organized and responsible, which helps me manage daily routines well — something that I know is important when caring for children. I speak German (native) and English (fluently), and I also have basic knowledge of French and Swedish. I’d love to improve my language skills further during my stay abroad.
