MARY MAE, 26 YEARS

Hello future Host family! If you’re seeking for a mature, trustworthy, patient, hardworking, reliable, kind, flexible and friendly aupair, maybe I am the one you are looking for. :) Before anything else, thank you for sparing me some time to introduce myself. Hi! I'm Mary Mae, but you can call me Mae. 26 years old, from the Philippines. I am searching for an opportunity again in learning another culture and language through this au pair program. Honestly, I'm already in the Philippines now. As I came home last year December 2023. But if your still willing to accept I would be very greatful and willing to process any time soon. If not, I can totally understand. PS: I'm still intouch with my previous host and they are still willing to provide a recommendation letter. Below shows an overview of my qualifications and experiences fit for becoming an au pair. EDUCATION: I am Graduate in Midwifery and had 1 year experience working in a private hospital. However, I do plan on studying again with another course which is Bachelor of Science And Radiology in the future after my au pair journey. WHAT I DO IN MY FREE TIME: My hobbies include cooking, singing sometimes, doing arts & crafts, plating board games too, watching movies on Netflix, Korean Dramas and such as animations and cartoons (I grew up watching Disney, Cartoon Network, & Nickelodeon). I can also ride a bike comfortably and can assist kids if they still don't know how to. I play badminton as well. EXPERIENCES WITH KIDS: I have experiences with kids because I had been working Nursing Assitant in a private hospital specially in Pediatric Ward and handling different kids and newborns. Also when I was in college I volunteer myself when there's a feeding program with the kids in the countryside. During off days of my work I usually babysitt and help my little cousins to their home work, play and feed them. Teaching good manners and teach them a light house hold chores for them to become more independent. (They are 7 and 9 yrs old girls) WORKING EXPERIENCE: I work in a private hospitals for 1 year, secretary in a photoshop. AT HOME: I am well versed in household chores. I have always been the one responsible for the chores since I am the eldest of the family. because we-me and my younger brother and sisters were raised by my parents who had to provide for us financially and was mostly out due to work. My responsibilities at home consists of laundry, ironing & folding the clothes, cooking, packing lunches for me and my younger brother and sister and little cousins, washing the dishes, even changing the curtains and bed sheets. I also help my mom in buying the weekly groceries. We never had a helper nor a nanny because I was able to manage the house very well. Despite the many responsibilities I had at home, I still managed to maintain my studies and school works. PREVIOUS HOST FAMILY BACKGROUND: Family in Iceland: They are family of 5, 3 kids ages 12 and twins 7 yrs old. Mom and Dad are Pilot and Fish Exporter. They also have 1 dog which I also walk sometimes. They are very nice family and treated me as a family. My responsibilties here consists of Laundry, folding the clothes, packing lunches for the kids, vacuum the floors, changing bed linens, tidy up the rooms of the kids, tidy up after dinner. Pick up the kids after school, play with them and babysitt sometimes if both parents are going to a parties. Family in Denmark: They are 5 in the Family, Mom & Dad with 3 kids ages 13, 9 and 5 years old. Same as my routine in Iceland, doing light household etc. They are also easy going family and treat me as part of their family. They also have rabbits that sometimes I feed when they are away. I am still in touch with both of my host families so if you need some reference they can give the best they can. :) LEARNED LANGUAGES: Our family uses Filipino in our daily conversations but still can spoke and understand English very well. I also have some basic knowledge in Icelandic, Hangul (Korean language due to the Korean Drama's and shows I watched. I'm still I am and will always be willing to learn a new language. I believe these experiences prove that I can most definitely adapt to the responsibilities an au pair have. I have good time management, can learn fast, I am hardworking & persistent. I also have a very sweet, bubbly, and upbeat personality which kids love. I can bond with them easily too because I also personally enjoy kids shows & activities (like arts and crafts) and making easy, child-friendly dessert recipes (with no sharp nor hot equipment).
