JULIE, 24 YEARS

Dear Host Family, Warm greetings! I am Julie Ann Bico, a 23-year-old with a genuine interest in becoming an Au Pair. I graduated with a degree in Biology, I initially set my sights on pursuing medicine this year. However, a desire to immerse myself in diverse cultures and landscapes led me to choose a different path for now. My upbringing in the Philippines has instilled in me values of kindness and resilience. When I went off to college in the city, I learned to take care of myself and appreciate different ways of life. Outside of school, I love doing simple things like going for walks, especially in the morning, playing with cats, listening to music, and painting. I believe I could be a beneficial part of your family, as I am honest, patient, calm, gentle, fun-loving, reliable, and hardworking. Also, I am good with kids. I love them! I appreciate how they strive to learn, and I believe they would be the best companions while being in a new country and learning new things. In addition, I have taken care of my family members — cousins, nephews, and nieces, played different games and learned alongside them during my summer breaks since I was in high school. I mostly prepared their food, fed them, and dressed them. Aside from that, I have experience handling kids during an internship at a maternity and lying-in clinic, where I assisted patients of all ages, including newborns. In terms of household chores, I have no problem, as cleaning brings comfort to me. It is a necessity for me to always be tidy and clean. I also enjoy getting creative with recipes, even though I admit that sometimes, the kitchen and I don't get along. I am genuinely excited about the possibility of joining your family in an unfamiliar country and sharing each other's culture and language.
