MARIA, 26 YEARS

Dear Host Family, I'm Maria a 26-year-old woman and I'm from Philippines. We are four siblings, I have two sisters and one brother. As the third among four siblings, I have always been surrounded by a supportive and loving environment that values hard work and responsibility. I graduated from Central Mindanao University with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education, major in Home Economics (Elementary Option). I took and passed the Licensure Exam for Teachers after receiving my degree, which paved the way for a rewarding five-year teaching at Alternative Learning System (ALS). This program is initiate to educate out-of-school youth from diverse age groups and backgrounds. My work as an ALS teacher sharpened my abilities in flexibility, tolerance, and ingenuity—skills that I think are critical in childcare and household management. In addition to my work as a teacher, I have a lot of practical childcare expertise. I helped my cousin with the care of her childrens, who ranged in age from one to eight. I gained a profound grasp of how to care for young children's needs and develop their minds throughout this time.I was in charge of giving them a bath, feeding them, helping them with their homework, baking, doing crafts, and playing educational games. My enthusiasm for working with kids and promoting their overall development has been strengthened by these encounters. In addition to my childcare experience, I have a strong background in cooking and baking. I earned a certificate from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) after completing a vocational course in this field. This training not only equipped me with practical culinary skills but also instilled in me a sense of discipline and a love for preparing healthy and delicious meals. My desire of becoming an au pair is a wonderful fit with my objectives of expanding my cultural horizons, helping a family with everyday tasks, and promoting the development and welfare of children.
