MARIE, 19 ÅR

my name is Marie and I come from Germany. I just graduated from high school and would like to work as an au pair in a Scandinavian country for a year or longer because I am really interested in the scandinavian culture and already spend lots of summer vacation in Denmark. I can identify really well with the way of life in Denmark and I love the landscape, the food and the sea. I’m also always delighted by the friendliness and helpfulness of the people. I have been looking after small children regularly for almost two years and have a lot of fun doing so. I would be happy to do the same as an au pair in your family. Maybe I am the right fit for you, I am always happy to hear from you! Some facts about me :) I live in a large family, as we are five children and our parents. My siblings are 21, 16, 14 and 11 years old. My older sister has been living in Hamburg since last year, so there are currently six of us at home. My father works as a garden designer and my mother has been at home since my older sister was born. Together we have four cats. We have lived in the village for 18 years, about 30 minutes from the nearest town. My grandparents live a few minutes away from us, which I really appreciate because I can visit them often. I like living in the village, but there are no good bus connections and sometimes I miss being able to get a coffee around the corner or meet my friends quickly. In my free time I’d love to go outside for a walk, alone or with friends. Home Workouts are also a personal favourite of mine and I try to work out 3 till 5 times per week but that depends on my time schedule. Currently I started with baking and I‘m trying lots of new recipes at the moment. My Grandma often teaches me new techniques for baking and I love to bake together with her. Most of my friends live 30 Minutes away from me, in the city but I try to see them really often and we go to coffee shops together, to the cinema, to bookstores or we cook together and just enjoy each others company. In the summer time we love to enjoy the evening in a bar or we dance in the club. I also really like to spend time with my family because we have a lot of fun together. We often try to make outdoor trips together, cook together or make a movie or game night. As much as I enjoy the company of the people around me I also need me time to focus on myself and simply just enjoy my own company to get to know myself better. I have already gained some experience in childcare, as I have been looking after two children aged six and eight regularly for almost two years. We often play board games together, bake, go outside in nature, read or let our creativity run wild. Sometimes I also spend the night with this family when the parents go out late in the evening. That always works very well too. For a few months now, I've also been looking after our neighbors' children, who are 1 and 4 years old. At first it was new for me to look after a very small child, but after a while I was able to take it on very well. I've learned a few new things and can easily look after them for a few hours together without them getting bored. This summer I graduated from High School (Abitur) and now I’m making my drivers license. After my time as an au pair I would like to go to the University and study with the theme of nutrition.
