1-🙋🏽‍♀️WHO AM I? Hello dear host family! My name is Lindy and I'm 18 years old. I was born and raised in Mozambique, a tropical African tourist country whose official language is Portuguese, where I live with my parents, my three younger brothers and our two cats. 👇 A little more about me ✝️I I'm a Christian but I respect all beliefs 🫶🏻Chocolate cat enthusiast and lover 📚 Law student 👩‍🎨Me I'm interested in museums, theaters and music ✍️I I love writing poetry, reading and especially writing I enjoy playing board games, especially educational games and songs with children 🏃‍♀️Pratico regularly walk and run outdoors and do contemporary dance 🍜I have an inexplicable passion for cooking 💡I love teaching and learning new things 🧹 Organized, and willing to do light housework and cook delicious food for the family 🚫Non-smoker 🚫Unfortunately, I don't drive 🚫No prejudices I enjoy many activities, but cooking is my greatest passion. I love creating new recipes and adding my own touch to existing ones. Since I was a little girl, I've always been curious to learn how to cook from my mother, grandmothers and aunts, not only out of curiosity, but also because in our African culture girls start learning how to cook and do household chores from a young age, but that's not a problem for us, just a cultural aspect, so I can't wait to introduce your family to typical recipes from Mozambique, and of course from all over the world. My first experience with children was with two of my younger brothers, Derick and Desmond, who are twins. I was 13 when they were born and looked after them while my parents were at work. I changed diapers, gave them bottles, prepared meals, played games, bathed them and, of course, made them stop crying and go to sleep. Because of this, even at a young age, I had to take on responsibilities that included looking after my siblings and cleaning our house. Today they are six years old and I continue to look after them and help with English, Portuguese and art activities at school. I also help my mother clean our house every day. I also took care of my cousins Shayne and Shelton while their mother was on a work trip, they are older, so the responsibilities were smaller: waking them up and getting them ready for school, tutoring math and Portuguese, preparing meals, cleaning the house and entertaining them with board games, which is something I love. My last experience was volunteering at a nursery, where I entertained the children with educational games, dances, gave them English lessons and also cleaned the nurseries. decided to be an au pair because I see this program as an essential step for my personal growth, coupled with the genuine love and patience I have for children. In addition, this exchange will allow me to immerse myself in the Scandinavian culture and lifestyle that I admire so much. More than that, it will allow me to immerse myself in a new culture, which I believe will be an enriching experience that will broaden my worldview.
