Dear host family, Dear host family. I hope you are all doing fine. My name is George Okoth. I grew up in the western part of Kenya in the shores of Lake Victoria in a small town called Siaya. I grew up in a family of 7. My parents and 4 of my siblings (4boys and 1 girl). I am a middle child, therefore I learnt responsibilities to care for my younger siblings and cousins which we grew closely with. My parents taught us how to share responsibilities from a very young age and everybody helped out with the house chores. This helped shaped me to be responsible hence doing housework to me doesn't so much feel like work but more of my daily routine And I am writing to express my interest in becoming an Au pair for your family. I am excited about the opportunity to immerse myself in your culture, learn from your experiences and contribute to your household in meaningful ways. As this is my first time seeking to be an Au pair, I wanted to share a bit about myself and what motivates me to pursue this adventure. Have always been passionate about working with children. I believe that children are source of joy and inspiration. My engagement with children at various local schools during their curriculum activities taught me patience, creativity and the importance of fostering a nurturing and positive environment. My native language is Luo and I can also write and speaks both English and Kiswahili fluently. I am eager to share my language skills with your children and I am also open to learning your language. That is something I can pick up from your children. I am active and responsible individual who enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, listening to music, swimming, playing football and other fun projects. I understand the responsibilities that come with being an Au pair and am committed to ensuring the well-being and happiness of both you and your children. I am prepared to assist with daily routines, homework and household chores as I can cook and do general cleaning like doing laundry, dish washing, and vacuuming. During summer time can help in a little of gardening. I will be very excited to share my cultural background with your family through cooking and storytelling. Living with a new family in a different country is an opportunity I approach with both excitement and curiosity to learn something new.
