To add on this Hello, Dear Future Host Family, My name is Jessabelle, and I’m 24 years old, turning 25 on April 19. I am currently an au pair in Iceland, and my contract will likely end in December. I’m looking for a host family ahead of time and hoping we could be a great match! I have been living with a wonderful host family that truly accepts me as a member of their family. They respect my time and privacy, and we have open communication, fixed schedules, which I really value. This has made my au pair experience even more fulfilling. I have extensive experience with kids, as I have been an au pair in Iceland since December 2, 2023. I’ve taken care of young children, initially a 2-year-old and a 3-year-old, who are now 4 and 5 years old. Both are boys, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of helping them grow. One of the most important things to me, especially with younger host kids, is being there to teach them new things, help improve their English skills, and encourage creativity (painting, carving during halloween, cutting papers, colouring and some extra curricular activities). We also love playing outside, going to the zoo and parks which makes our time together fun and active! Aside from childcare, I also handle household chores, ensuring everything is tidy and well-organized. Having lived in Iceland for almost 1 year and 3 months, I’ve gained valuable experience in both childcare and household responsibilities.
