JOYCE, 28 JAHRE

Dear Family My name is Joyce Wagaturi a 28 years old girl from Nairobi Kenya. My family consists of one member, my mother. My mother is a businesswoman in Nairobi and she has always been my role model. I cleared high school in 2013 and I have since done basic first aid training and a couple of childcare activities. I have always wanted to be an Au pair since I was introduced to it by a friend who is currently back in the country after her 3 years Au pair experience and she is now a full-time pediatric doctor. I am an outgoing person who loves learning new things like learning new languages, learning the culture of the people of other countries, and practicing their way of life, I am currently in Kenya. I have been taking care of 1 child who is 5 years old through a new program that was introduced to me 2 years ago. It’s good with child care and Montessori activities. I believe I have enough knowledge of childcare. I would say she loves it when I cook. I have been brought up as a responsible and hardworking girl, being the only child in an African home I do all house chores and I am very much self-reliant. My mother has always said I do not need supervision since I have always been positive about most things and happy and cheerful. I am also a listener and also a social person, I love meeting new people and making new friends. I have always loved children and I really love how peaceful I am around them. My first childcare experience was with my cousin but I, later on, had to go to boarding school after college I learned and joined the childcare program. I have learned a lot from that since I dealt with children from different families and backgrounds and this helped me understand that every child is different and I learnt to love and be dedicated to each one of them. My hobbies are doing charity work, cooking, hanging out with friends, and reading novels. In my free time I try being creative and I can come up with really nice house artwork and decorations. I believe my Au pair journey will leave me with so much experience that will be helpful in my life and that is why I would like this opportunity to be an Au pair to an amazing family and to be able to learn each other's cultures.
