BESONG, 27 JAHRE

Dear host family, I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Fleurette. I am 27years old and from a small town in Cameroon called Kumba with my parents, cousins, nephews and niece. I live in an area that is full of evergreen nature. My father works as an inter-urban bus driver, my mother works as a science teacher in a government high school. While my cousins, nephews and niece are currently attending secondary school. Overall, we are a pretty large family, I have one sibling, ten cousins, two nephews and three nieces. 
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with kids and I consider them as my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. I’m always there for them if they need me.
 In my free time, I like to listen to music, teach or dance. Dancing is one of my favorite hobbies. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing – even though I cannot sing. During holidays, I organize fun and educative games for children. It is always a lot of fun!
 At the moment, I work as a psychosocial counselor for a non governmental organization that is dedicated to eliminating HIV transmission and improving the quality of life for those infected with HIV particularly focusing on children and adolescents. I enjoy this job very much, mainly because of its objectives which are; to reduce new pediatric HIV infections, to increase awareness and education of pediatric HIV/AIDS through campaigns and workshops, to expand access to testing and treatment for children and adolescents diagnosed with HIV, and offer comprehensive support services, including medical, psychological, and social assistance. This has helped me bond well with such clients to help reduce stigma.
 Seven years ago, I did an apprenticeship as a junior accountant in a municipal council and two years after, I did an apprenticeship as a business developer in a small logistics firm. Before the apprenticeship I completed my university studies earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
 I took care of children of all ages from different families since 15years of age. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. When my elder sister gave birth to her youngest son, I took care of him, because the nature of her work and my mum’s didn’t give them enough time. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine a life without them.
 The reason why I want to go to Europe as an au pair is that I want to get to know the European way of life as well as different languages and cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my foreign language skills as well. I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids.
