FRANZ, 19 JAHRE

Dear host family, My name is Franz, I am 18 years old, and I live in a small village in Saxony. It is located near Aue-Bad Schlema and Chemnitz, and it is called Wildbach. It is a really small village with only around 600 people living here. Wildbach is like the typical countryside village you would imagine. There I live with my mom, my stepdad, and my sister, occasionally my little stepbrothers and my older brother visit us (Both every second weekend). My parents are separated, which is why my dad lives further away. Even though he lives further away, we see each other often. In Wildbach we also live with our two cats, Molly and Willy. We are very close with our neighbors who have sheep, and we also often care for them too. That is why I like animals in general and really like pets. Our other neighbors (on the opposite side of the little road) have also little children (9 months, two years, and five years) which I babysit from time to time. My Hobbies are playing accordion and wood carving, both of it is relaxing and most of the time a big stress relief. I have been learning to play the accordion since 2018 and have been doing woodcarving for 10 years now. I also really like to read books and play video games. Mostly I play with friends online in the evenings, but also like to play single-player games or some cozy local multiplayer games with my family. When I am not with friends or doing some other hobby I like to read, mostly fantasy books but also sometimes romantasy or fantasy books. Another hobby of mine is listening to music, but not on Spotify or something like that, but on records. I like to collect records and listen to them very often. I mostly like older music, something like the 70s-90s, and mostly like to listen to “ABBA”. While I am writing this letter, I managed to do my 3 written Abitur exams, and I am soon doing my oral exams too. I am hoping to pass my exams soon and to do so with good grades. Besides school, I am working in an indoor playground for kids. I mostly supervise them and play with them, but of course, I also do things a cashier does. I also babysit the neighbor’s children from time to time as I already mentioned and have done two internships in kindergartens around here which made me realize that I like childcare that much.
