ALTHEA, 19 JAHRE

Hello! My name is Althea, I am 19 years old, currently living in the Philippines. I grew up in a big, loving family with five daughters, and I am the fourth born. Family means everything to me, and growing up with my siblings has been a wonderful experience that has taught me patience, empathy, and how to take care of others. In addition to my immediate family, we have a sweet dog named George, and chickens in our backyard, so taking care of pets is something I’m very familiar with. I also have a passion for baking and often spend time experimenting with new recipes and perfecting my skills. I enjoy preparing a variety of baked goods, from cakes and cookies to bread. This hobby allows me to be creative and develop patience and attention to detail, and I find cooking and baking together to be a wonderful way to bond with family while creating delicious, homemade meals. Aside from that, I have extensive experience in childcare. Growing up, I often took care of my younger cousins and nephew, and most recently, I babysat the daughter of my mom’s colleague from when she was just 4months old until she turned 3. These experiences have truly sparked my passion for caring for children. I have looked after kids ranging from newborns to preteens, allowing me to understand the unique needs of children at different stages. I also serve as a Sunday school teacher at our church, where I actively engage with the kids, teach them values, and create a fun and safe learning environment. In terms of my education, I graduated high school in 2023. Shortly after, I took a caregiving course where I learned about first aid and received on-the-job training in a Nursing home. This training was both fun and educational, enhancing my Caregiving skills and preparing me for various responsibilities. I am a certified first aider and caregiver, which I believe would be very valuable in a childcare setting. While I search for a host family, I work part-time as an event coordinator and house cleaner. My event coordination experience has refined my skills in managing schedules, greeting guests, and solving problems, which are valuable for creating smooth, structured routines for children. It also shows my ability to set up organized and engaging environments. As a house cleaner, I’ve developed strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring a clean and welcoming home. These roles have enhanced my problem-solving and multitasking abilities. I also love riding bike and hold a driver’s license, I can help with school drop-offs, pickups, and running errands if needed. I am genuinely passionate about childcare and being a positive influence in a child’s life. I would love the opportunity to become an au pair to not only help a family but also to experience a new culture and learn from it.
